Siu Nim Tao Part 2
Compulsory Prerequisite Courses:
SNT Part 1
This is the second course of Siu Nim Tao which continues into the next important and necessary steps for this unique method of ‘INTERNAL’ Wing Chun as taught by Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin.
The Siu Nim Tao Part 2 Curriculum Explained
This course is 21 hours in duration and covers many things such as:
Precision of Movement
Now that you have some experience in practicing the form and applying some of the foundational ideas such as Taigung, Seng and Elbow Force, it is now important to put it all together with this concept we call ‘Precision of movement’ which begins to develop the Nim Tao state through pre-movement intentions and mental projections of each move. This concept is usually a game changer for students.
Joint Rotation
This was a regularly utilized tool that Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin used when teaching his students. There are very detailed videos on this important training tool (over 2hours of footage) in which Sifu Nima shares his experience and suggestions on how to utilize this idea and not getting caught in its trap of localizing the movements and going away from ‘holistic idea’ which many of CST’s students got caught in.
Retaining the State in our movements and exercises
Transferring the ideas that we develop in SNT in all the other exercises and eventually into the way we move in our daily lives.
Power Generation
detailed videos on how to apply the newly learned ideas of this Intermediate SNT in every single part of the form, how a training partner can apply resistance to every movement of the SNT form, how to read the feedback from the experience and what feeling to look for etc. These videos are very useful even for people who do not have training partners as they allow you to understand how to guide a non-Wing Chun person such as a friend, spouse, or family member to apply resistance to your movements for feedback.
Helpful training discussion like
Correct mental effort for practice (using the right focus, not trying to hard), tips on Staying Motivated and on the path, The Health benefits of SNT, etc.
Hours of teaching moment footage
of Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin teaching at his school in Hong Kong and which are all related to what you will learn in this Intermediate SNT course. These videos are subtitled and dubbed over by Sifu Nima in a podcast break-down style and so are very special and unique to our online students.
After this course, you will be able to move into the SNT Part 3, Chum Kiu Part 1, and Chi Sao Complete courses in which you can continue to deepen your practice in this beautiful art of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Happy Training!
